Charlie Rose interviews Assad: Portions of exclusive interview to air on CBS This Morning

CHARLIE ROSE's interview with Syria's
Assad is the Syrian leader's first chat with
an American TV network in nearly 2 years.

Portions of the interview will air throughout
the day on CBS, followed by the complete
interview on Rose's PBS program Monday night.

CBS This Morning co-host Charlie Rose interviews Syrian President Bashar al-Assad in his only television interview since President Barack Obama asked Congress to approve the use of force against the Syrian regime for alleged use of chemical weapons. 

The interview is Assad’s first with an American television network in nearly two years.

Rose traveled to Damascus where he spoke with the Syrian leader at the Presidential Palace today (Sunday, Sept. 8).

Portions of the interview will be broadcast beginning tomorrow, Sept. 9, on CBS This Morning, after which time elements can be seen across all CBS News platforms, including and the CBS Evening News with Scott Pelley (5:30 p.m. CT / 6:30 ET) on CBS. 

The interview in its entirety will then be shown on the Charlie Rose show on PBS television stations Monday night.
