Belinda Babinec is WIKY's new news director and morning anchor

WIKY (104.1 FM, Evansville) has a new news director and morning news anchor.

The station's parent company, South Central Media, announced this morning that Belinda Babinec will take over the role vacated by former news director Mark Evans, who left WIKY earlier this year.

Belinda is a Chicago native and a graduate of Illinois State University, and is a veteran of radio newsrooms, most recently as the morning news editor for WIQI-FM in Chicago. She has also worked as an anchor, reporter and editor at WBBM Newsradio and FM News 97.5 in Chicago, and in Houston at KRTH.

She begins her duties at WIKY immediately and will join the WIKY Morning Show as news anchor sometime in September.

Welcome to the Tri-State, Belinda!
