Popular Louisville meteorologist John Belski is going to be back on TV, with the station that gave him his start in Louisville more than three decades ago.

WLKY announced Friday afternoon that Belski was joining the CBS affiliate's weather team "effective immediately," and that he will contribute to all of the station's platforms - on air, online and mobile - including a daily weather blog.

“For more than 30 years John Belski has been one of the most popular and recognized meteorologists in Greater Louisville. His addition to WLKY Weather will enhance our position as Louisville’s news leader,” said WLKY president/GM Glenn Haygood.

Belski's move to WLKY is a return home. He began his TV career there in 1979 and worked there until he left for WAVE 3 in 1987. He retired in 2010 but has continued to be active in both the weather community and the Louisville community since then.

“It’s great to be back at WLKY, where I started in Louisville years ago”, said Belski. “I’m excited to join Jay, Matt, Susanne and Jared doing what I love most, covering the weather and keeping people informed.”
