Iverson named host of Q102's midday program
Making the move from nights to middays on Q102
Q102 (WQXQ, 101.9 FM, Central City) has a new midday host starting today.
Taunya Iverson, who has been host of the station's All Night Interactive Show, is moving into the midday slot being vacated by the deletion of Ryan Seacrest's midday program.
Iverson's program will be called the Q102 More Music Midday Show.
"Taunya has been with us for 6 months and has made great strides in becoming a great talent and has been very well received in the Owensboro Community and all of Q102land," said WQXQ PD Rick Daniels. "I'm am very proud of her hard work ethic, and she has been a star as a account executive as well. This is a well earned promotion."
As for the move to include more locally-produced programming, Daniels said that's been in the works. "We decided months ago we could serve Western Kentucky and Southern Indiana better by bringing in more local talent. Ryan Seacrest is a outstanding show, but we feel Taunya can take us to a new level in Owensboro and the surrounding Q102land listening area."
Iverson is no stranger to Tri-State radio: She's been an intern and personality at WBKR (92.5 FM, Owensboro) and also interned at Hot 96 WSTO (96.1 FM, Evansville/Owensboro).
