NBCUniversal announced Wednesday that Steve Harvey, the popular new talk show seen in the Evansville market on Local 7 WTVW, has been renewed through 2016 in markets covering 65% of the country.

In addition to Nexstar, NBC's O&O stations, Hearst, Cox, Media General, FOX, Sinclair, Gannett, Local TV, Allbritton, LIN, Nexstar and Raycom have also renewed the program.

“Steve is one of the best entertainers in the country and his first season has been a tremendous success because of the personal connection he makes with the daytime audience,” said Ted Harbert, chairman of NBC Broadcasting, in a statement. “It's so great to see Steve’s very funny and substantive show being rewarded with long-term commitments from our station partners.”

"The sale of the show through 2016 is a testimony to its popularity, the immense talent of Steve Harvey and his ability to resonate with a broad and diverse daytime audience," said David Goldberg, chairman and CEO of Endemol North America.

In addition to WTVW, the show is also seen on WTHI-MyFox10 (Terre Haute), WDKA-My49 (Paducah), WLKY 32 (Louisville), KDNL-ABC30 (St. Louis) and WZTV-FOX 17 (Nashville).
