Sinclair buying Titan Television Broadcast Group stations

Company picks up four stations in California, Nebraska and Iowa for $115M, will provide services for two more

Sinclair Broadcast Group is growing again.

The company announced Monday that it's buying Titan Television Broadcast Group's stations, located in California, Nebraska and Iowa, for $115.35 million.

Titan owns four stations and operates two more that are owned by other parties. Sinclair will assume TTBG's obligations to those two stations.

“We are pleased to bring the TTBG stations into the Sinclair portfolio,” said David Smith, Sinclair's president and CEO. “They will complement the California properties we are acquiring from Fisher, as well as add to our Iowa presence and give us our first stations in Nebraska. We welcome all of them to the Sinclair group.”

The deal, which requires FCC and antitrust approval, is expected to close by year's end, perhaps as early as the late third quarter.

Sinclair owns and/or operates the following stations in our region:
  • KBSI (FOX 23) and WDKA (My49), Cape Girardeau/Paducah
  • KDNL (ABC30), St. Louis
  • WZTV (FOX 17), WUXP (My30) and WNAB (CW58), Nashville
