KFVS, Mediacom at retransmission impasse

CBS, CW programs could be pulled if no new agreement is in place by July 1

KFVS12 in Cape Girardeau is warning Mediacom customers in Southern Illinois and Western Kentucky that they could lose the station's programming on July 1.

The station and cable company have been unable to reach a new deal thus far, although the station says they continue to seek a deal that's "fundamentally similar" to those other stations have with the cable company.

In the JDTVB coverage area, KFVS is currently on Mediacom systems in the following communities:

  • S. ILLINOIS - Marion, Carterville, Colp, Crainville, Eldorado, Energy, Harrisburg, Herrin, Johnston City, West Frankfort, Williamson Co. and Whiteash
  • W. KENTUCKY - Marion, Princeton, Salem, Caldwell Co., Crittenden Co. & Fredonia\
EDITOR'S NOTE:  It's not clear if 14WFIE is in danger of being removed from the Mediacom systems closer to the Evansville area. At this time, there is no warning on 14NEWS.com or on air.
