Coming back to TV, after all: OWN to air AMC, OLTL

The New York Times' Brian Stelter and Entertainment Weekly are both reporting that Oprah Winfrey's OWN cable network will broadcast repeat episodes of the recently-revived-online All My Children and One Life to Live this summer.

Half-hour episodes of each show will air Monday through Thursday starting July 15. AMC will air at noon CT (1 p.m. ET), with OLTL airing at 2 p.m. CT (3 ET).

“These shows have proven to be very popular with a significant, loyal fan base, not to mention Oprah herself is a big fan,” said Erik Logan, president, OWN, in a statement. “Many of our viewers across numerous platforms have expressed their passion for the soaps so we are especially excited to air this limited engagement on OWN.”

OWN will air the shows' first 40 episodes over a 10-week period.

EW suggests if the shows do well ratings-wise, it could be the start of a long-term relationship between Prospect Park, the shows' production company, and OWN.
