SummitMedia closes on Cox stations

Newly-formed company bought 23 stations in 5 markets from Cox, including 4 Louisville-area stations

Within days of receiving approval from the FCC to purchase 23 stations from Cox Media Group, SummitMedia has closed its $66.25 million deal.

The company is now in charge of stations formerly owned by Cox in Alabama, Hawaii, S. Carolina, Virginia and the Louisville area.

SummitMedia's new Louisville-market stations are WQNU-103.1 FM, "New Country 103.1," Lyndon, Ky.; WVEZ-106.9 FM, "Lite 106.9," St. Matthews, Ky.; WSFR-107.7 FM, "107.7 The Eagle," Corydon, Ind.; and WRKA-103.9 FM, "Country Legends 103.9," Louisville.
