Report: Network TV's cancellation count stands at 43

With so many new shows on the way for this fall, the broadcast networks decided to go all-out in an effort to clean house and make way for the new product.

In the end, Media Life reports, the final count of dead shows stands at 43.  Seventeen of those were sitcoms.

Even shows that might have made it in an ordinary year got tossed to the curb this year, including ABC's Body of Proof and Happy Endings, just to name a couple of well-publicized cancellations that made more than a few viewers mad.
